Monthly Molten Steel of Erzhong Equipment Hit a New Record High in a Decade
Category:HighlightsRelease date:2020.05.19

In April, the casting and forging plant of Erzhong Equipment reached 18188.9 tons of eligible molten steel despite the fallout from COVID-19, breaking through the record hit in September of last year with 18101.8 tons, which is the highest recorded in a decade.

The COVID-19 is still raging around the world. While putting epidemic control and prevention measures in place, the casting and forging plant is racing against the clock to ensure the production progress.

Since the April this year, while ensuring to keep a great number of key products, strict quality demand and diversified feeding, the casting and forging plant made careful planning in organization and production with the goal of ensuring desirable progress and efficiency. It is the consensus of every employee in the plant to secure the success of the delivery of the product at an early date through winning back the time lost in the epidemic.

In addressing the challenges of high-quality product, long-time smelting and compulsory smelting equipment by Shenghong Hydrogenation Project and hydroelectricity stainless steel, the casting and forging plant initiated the model in which feeding were carried out alternately and products of small investment, short production cycle and rapid economic returns such as castings and hinge beams were produced alternately, giving full play of the smelting equipment for improving the production efficiency as much as possible. Surveillance and monitoring have been performed over the operating equipment at a regular basis, raw and auxiliary materials are prepared in advance and technicians and technical team leaders have kept being on duty in turn for providing technical support during the whole manufacturing process, these efforts are made to ensure stable progress of production. All relevant employees in the casting and forging plant have been united in achieving the goal of 18000-ton molten steel in a month. On April 15th, the molten steel hit 970.8 tons, surpassing the record of 936 tons hit on February 28th; from April 16th to April 18th, the feeding of the first 6 Zhangzhou nuclear low-pressure welding steel ingot for rotor was completed.

Until now, although severely affected by the epidemic, the casting and forging plant produced an increase of 9.96% molten steel than that in 2019, laying a good foundation for accomplishing the target of the whole year.

With the molten steel hitting 17000 tons in March and hitting 18000 tons in April, the casting and forging plant continuously achieved high capacity with new record, greatly bolstering the morale of all employees in the plant. At present, with great enthusiasm and unyielding willpower, they are marching in great strides towards the goal in the second quarter.
