After 16 months’ accelerating construction, the Kampong Thom Transformer Substation of Cambodia East-looped Network Phase-2 Project by China Heavy Machinery Co.,Ltd.(CHMC) successfully passed the acceptance of EDC in Cambodia. The client showed high approval of the engineering work of this project.

The Kampong Thom transformer substation is the largest one of its kind in Cambodia with 18 months of contracted construction period, including one 230Kv transformer and one 115kV transformer, serving as the hub of electricity transmission for Siem Reap, Kampong Cham and Preah Vihear. The successful acceptance of the transformer substation will play a positive role in economic development of Kampong Thom province and its surrounding areas.

Since the work on the Kampong Thom transformer substation was started in December 2018, under strong support of the client and close coordination from collaborative units, the project team kept working even amid the rainy weather, ensuring the quality and security of the project while having the epidemic impact under control. With these hardworking efforts, the project team of CHMC completed the construction, installation and adjustment two months ahead.
