Through focusing on technical efforts in recent two years, Erzhong Equipment has achieved success in the research of core casting of semi-integral runner of new pumped hydro energy storage equipment. Until now, the list of large-scale casting and forging of Erzhong Equipment is longer and more complete.

Different from the conventional runner casting including three parts of upper crown, lower ring and blade, the semi-integral runner casting consists of the upper crown and the lower ring, with its internal quality, molded lines and material performance higher than that of traditional split-type runner casting, posing serious challenges to process engineering level, manufacturing method and quality control of operation process.  

The casting and forging company attached great importance to the new product undertaken by Erzhong Equipment for the first time by setting up project teams to carry out technical breakthroughs and formulate the best technological plan of casting. Through multi-dimensional in-depth numerical simulation, optimizing model full NC block structure, 3D dynamic simulation modeling process, full-process size full-coverage detection and executing special-process operation instruction, the product has been successfully developed. The process quality of the product has been under good control and met the process requirements, which successfully passed the detection of the three parties combined, demonstrating strong technical capability and innovative ability of Erzhong Equipment in manufacturing heteromorphic multi-surface complex and key large steel casting.
